Oh where did you go? Was it just for a vacation?
It was a four-day trip and I was in a group tour. We were not given a free day, or even at least for half day. We went to many places though, mainly the touristy ones.
Whereabouts in Korea will you stay?
I don’t know yet. I just applied with the recruiting company that I’m going through. It will be a long process -__- lol. I will probably go around December or something of next year.

Ohhh! Well I had my Adventure Teaching interview that went well ^^ They said to start getting my documents together … I’m mailing my FBI background check application request in Friday. I’m planning on going as soon as I can after I graduate in September. The lady asked, “so you’re thinking about October or November?” I said yes! That’s so soon though! I can’t believe it o_o I still need to take an online TESOL course this summer, and I plan on taking some Korean classes in Seattle this summer as well. I also have an internship this summer … this summer will be nuts haha.
You sure are a fount of positive energy! Haha, It took about 6 weeks for my background check to be completed. Then it takes about 1 week or less to get the apostille for it (Send it through Authxperts, they are kinda pricy, but they are fast!). So do you know what province/city you will be in? It is looking like I will be in Chungnam or Gyeongsangnam. I have been working on Korean as well. I find it much, much, MUCH easier than Chinese.
I am looking at getting to Korea any time between 1 month from now to 3 months from now. Either way it is coming up quickly 😀

Don’t you need to mark something on the FBI background check about needing an apostille stamp? I’m worried something will not turn out right though o_o I’m not sure where I will be yet. All I told them is I would prefer a larger city, but that it wasn’t too important. I basically just started the process. How are you practicing Korean? You know about talktomeinkorean.com? It is a good website! I have been trying to get tutoring and hopefully that class will work out. I don’t want to be helpless there! I think I might even go to a Korean language school while I’m there, if I have the time. You know Chinese too? Chinese seems so difficult! But I agree, Korean is pretty easy with the writing system and everything.
you may put a cover letter stating that you need this background check for working overseas in Korea. They should then put a seal and signature on it that will make it valid for an apostille.
From there you will either send it to the secretary of stat in DC, or to a company that will take it there for you. Mailing it directly will take much longer (4-6 weeks) but cost less; sending it to a company will take much less time (mine was under 1 week), but it costs much more ($70ish)
Everything will go well so long as you pay attention to details and instructions. I was worried too, writing all of my information as neatly as possible, paranoid that one small mistake would cost me a job in Korea. Everything turned out alright though.
I have been thinking of taking Korean language lessons as well. I think it would be a very worth while use of time. You may even be able to talk to your Korean coworkers as practice! Some private schools offer discounts at Korean language institutes.
Chinese is tough. Thank goodness Korean does not have tones 🙂

well I have had a couple. I am aiming at public schools, but I interviewed with a private school the other day. They asked be a couple questions about whether I was ready for the culture/ food. The most important question they asked me was what I would do if two students got in a fight. This might be a good question to research.

Culture and FOOD???? HAH! I’m looking forward to it so much! I already cook Korean food all the time at home. My boyfriend is Korean lol ^^ His mom has taught me some things. But that is a good/difficult/interesting question.
